Model United Nations is an event organized worldwide, which aims to promote simulations of real United Nations’ negotiations. In an attempt to foment debate and critical thinking, current and relevant global issues are presented to the participants, introducing them to the complexity of the rules of procedure required for such negotiations.

 

Pelotas MUN was therefore created in 2013 with the purpose of bringing that experience to the university community of Pelotas. It is also a great opportunity for students to develop their English skills, provided that the simulations are conducted entirely in that language. The project is carried out by International Relations students of the Federal University of Pelotas, and is currently on its third edition.
